Kenya Virtual Learning Exchange Program
The Mary Ward Centre is facilitating a virtual learning exchange program between secondary students in Toronto and students in Kenya. Connect your classes or clubs with Nairobi students, for collaborative learning and sharing.
Important things to know about the Kenyan schools:
• Loreto Convent Valley Road and Loreto Msongari are private high schools that teach Grades 9 to 12 (referred to as Forms 1 to 4). Many Loreto students live on campus but some commute.
• Nairobi is 7 hours ahead and school ends at 4 pm for them. Thus, synchronous zooms might be limited. However, they are open to asynchronous collaborations where the Loreto students might complete homework or a project after school, or as part of a club.
• The best month for collaboration with their school year is October or March which marks the end of each term
• Students need to book the computer lab to access the Internet. Some students might have access at home.
